I imagine logistics of making the show with both of you in one location is difficult, but I find the synergy between you two when you're face to face (or side to side) is strikingly better, more connected, versus in your own homes when it feels like you're in your private pods. My three cents.
This problem with Laine dates all the way back to his time in Winnipeg. The team didn't feel he deserved to play on the first line with Shiefele, because of his play outside of his great shot, and Laine felt he did. Blake Wheeler told him bluntly to shape up or accept his lot on the team, and Laine asked to be traded. It's only gotten worse because the NHL keeps getting faster and he keeps playing at a glacial pace. It's impossible for linemates to play with him 5-on-5. Unless he picks up his pace I frankly don't see a place for him on the Canadiens, maybe not in the NHL altogether.
The two most valuable players on expiring contracts are the two that I would not mind retaining providing the money and term fit. However, I doubt that will be the case with Evans and Armia.
Speaking of Finn cuisine, I never had a bad piece of bread during my visit there. In fact I think Finland makes better bread than the French..
The scoop about Laine not staying with his team speaks volumes. That’s not good.

Bring back Lars Eller!
