Good morning guys. I’m enjoying the Substack presentation but I do take issue with Arpen giving Dvorak a free pass. If your fourth line is supposed to be your energy line then he is the exact opposite of that. As a veteran he should recognize the situational needs of the team and in my opinion he has failed. Is he the only problem on the team, No, but if you’re on the fourth line, apathetic shouldn’t be the first word you think of to describe your play. His 10 to 12 minutes a game should be a reminder the other lines are being pushed to be better or replaced by his line. The msg he currently is sending - don’t worry, your jobs are safe.

I couldn’t agree more. If MSL wants to address his team’s lack of urgency, he should look no further than his apathetic “energy line” centre for a whipping boy. He has all the intensity of a dad at his four year old’s skating party and hasn’t visibly broken a sweat this season.

We hear ad nauseum how the veterans are around to teach the younger players how to be a “good pro”. What lessons are they learning from this guy?

Sorry Arpon, I usually agree with you but I honestly don’t understand your take on this one. If Armia can get waived to Laval last year (to his ultimate benefit) I see no reason Dvorak can’t be healthy-scratched (or more) as well.

Bonjour. I have sort of a question here. Last Fridays i think Arpon address it a little bit but I would like for you to expand on it. You were talking about that long pass that Caufield did to Suzuki against Washington and mentioned that it was a play made by a player trying to win the game by opposition to what they we’re trying to do last year, which was doing your best. Don’t you think that is the main problem this year and why they’re losing uglier this year. Jouer pour gagner veut souvent dire pas faire le beau jeu, se replier systématiquement et rester concentré jusqu’à la fin. N’est ce pas là le problème numéro un de l’équipe, cette transition dans le mindset.

The team is just too lackadaisical. They start every game with no urgency. Additionally they don't seem to understand how to stop the cycle. If they could find a way to start the game with energy, that could set the tone and hopefully build their confidence.
